The relationship between the US and Israel is better than the relationships between the US and pretty much any other comparable country. Speaking both geographically and industry wise.

Rich people in the US and Israel, (but all across the globe, really) and their companies benefit if Israel is in power and comparable countries are weakened. They also benefit from armed conflicts.

These people benefitted from the entire War on Terror. They made money off the Iraq war (which btw helped Israel's economy recover from the dot com bubble bursting), they're making money off the Palestinian genocide, and they will make money off a war with Iran.

They even benefit when there aren't any armed conflicts, as long as the relationships between other countries are strained.

To make that one a bit easier to grasp: The US is the top global producer of pistachios. Iran is second. The Wonderful Company, who produces between 15-20% of US pistachios, has repeatedly lobbied for a more aggressive stance with Iran.

It's always money. It's always been money. It forever will be money.

I mean. that aside. You do typically benefit from resources being available to other members of your group.

Lets do an example.

You sell cookies. The woman down the street has 10 dollars. 9 of them are spent paying back a predatory student loan. She needs her remaining dollar to survive and does not buy a cookie. You do not make money that day and unfortunately die from having no money. A loan company somewhere far away adds 9 dollars to its cartoonishly giant pile of money. It makes no difference to them.

Or, if her student loans have been forgiven, she now has some money left over after covering necessities and buys 2 cookies. You take that money to buy yourself a hat. The hat salesman takes that money and buys groceries. None of you die from having no money, and you now have a nice hat.

Just gave the HBG writing folder its first major overhaul since I started putting out the episodes (there was a year or two before this where it was in constant flux).

For as long as I've been working on the project, the Formicosa City arc has been a constant source of stress, as I could not figure out how to approach it. It floundered, and as a result viewers still have no idea what the plot is, because I've barely gotten any of it out.

So, today I cut out absolutely everything that was not essential to the story, with everything else reduced to a single montage sequence later on. And...it actually works a lot better this way! I'm actually excited about every single scene that appears now.

I will miss all the areas, characters, worldbuilding and lore I wanted to share...but, to compensate, I'll just have to do more supplemental videos that expand on it all. I'm also thinking about putting out books!

So yeah, excited about this. Hope you are too!

Protecting the environment in the face of climate change isn't about keeping everything nice and safe like it always was. We are well past that point. Our job is to minimize damage done right now and to help recovery for the future.

Climate change (or nuclear war, if you're feeling extra dramatic) may "kill the planet" in the sense that humans can no longer survive on it. It's something we're on a good track to minimize, but maybe not avoid entirely. People will die because of climate change. We only get to choose how many and how fast.

Also you're not the only fucking creature in this ecosystem, you miserable ass wipe.

I started reading the widows bite and I'm really liking it. But can I ask you why you wrote Carlos bottoming in the first chapter? Carlos looks like that and you made him bottom. It feels very ooc.

I'm about to ramble because I've already ignored a very similar ask before, but now I really feel like typing away.

First of all, “Carlos looks like that and you made him bottom.” Isn't it fun to label characters and people purely based on what they look like? It's so interesting because I see it more often than I'd like, and not just about Carlos but also for TK. Sometimes, I read posts, takes, and fics that make me, a gay man, actually uncomfortable. I don't interact with those people, so it doesn't bother me for more than a couple of minutes, and I just vent to a friend if I really find something upsetting.

I'm not sure what started it all. I'm assuming it is a mentality that predates Tarlos, but there are people who have no actual clue how gay relationships work, and it shows. And that in itself is not a problem—you do you, like what you like.

However, let me tell you something: the vast majority of gay men are versatile. They don't exclusively top or bottom. Chances are, Carlos loves being ravaged in bed just as much as TK does. And no, it does not have to be a special occasion or rare. This trend is also very popular—to state how uncommon it is for Carlos to bottom. Who decided that? Did someone psychoanalyze a character through a screen (which I assume everyone can see how inaccurate that can be) and headcanon a few things that have now taken over? There's nothing wrong with that, but don't treat people who have different headcanons—perhaps even closer to reality—like they are dumb for having Carlos bottom in a scene.

Just to be clear: bottom, top, vers, dom, sub, etc.—like what you like. It doesn't matter. I'm not saying you're wrong for a headcanon you may have or for writing/reading about top Carlos because that's what you like—that's completely valid. Enjoy what you enjoy (I like it too). However, don't dismiss others for not adhering to your headcanons, because those are simply headcanons and nothing more. Don't distort reality or misrepresent an entire community. And maybe (just maybe) don't come to me telling me how out-of-character it is for Carlos to bottom, because that's a decision you made. If you've never talked to a gay man or have no idea how gay sex works outside of your fantasy, that's okay—just be aware that it is, in fact, your fantasy.

Maybe I'm overly sensitive on this specific topic, but I hate the subtle homophobia that sometimes makes its way here (not here on tumblr specifically, just in the Tarlos scene in general). It extends into further problems, like the fetishization of Tarlos (and gay men in general), which makes me roll my eyes, but also how Carlos is sometimes treated purely as TK's protector without any actual trait, and how TK is only the damsel in distress who needs a man to guide him. I've seen it so many times that it's not even funny. I could honestly go on, but I feel like I rambled a lot already, so… Let Carlos be a person. Let TK be a person. They're gay. They like dick. Let Carlos enjoy that dick.
